The Eve of New Years Eve and many changes

Well, there have been many changes in our lives since I last blogged. First of all, we are no longer living in Germany. In September, we moved back to the USA. Leonard and I felt that God was telling us it was time for us to move on. So, without Leonard having a job, and without a house to live in, we packed up our things from Munich, and are now living in Winston-Salem, NC. We have seen God's direction and presence in this whole move. There were times that were hard and times we had to learn to trust God, but HE in no way, led us astray.

We were willing to relocate to anywhere in NC, but were really praying that we would be able to stay in the Winston area, so that we could be near our families. At first, we decided to wait to join a church until we KNEW where we were going to live. We had attended VF for services, and really enjoyed the church family, but still thought we were going to wait and join until we knew where we were going to be. The more time that went by and the longer Leonard did not get any job interviews, the more we felt that God wanted us to join VF so that we could serve him while we were waiting. So, in November, we joined VF. A week later, a lady at the church came up to Leonard and said, "I do not know if my company is hiring right now, but here is the name of it, and the website and you can see if you can find anything there." Leonard looked the next day, and lo and behold if there was not a job for a Network Engineer position available. He applied online and the next day had a phone call from the company. He had an interview the next week, and they basically hired him on the spot. The best thing about the whole thing, is that the job is in Greensboro, which means we can stay in Winston (near our church, near our families, and near the children's school). Another blessing God gave to us was that Leonard was offered a whole lot more than he would have ever accepted. God is good! After a few delays from Background checks, Leonard is already on his 3rd week of work. God is so good!

In January, I am going to be working at a training center daycare type thing as a teacher's assistant. Once again, we were not looking for this job, God just seemed to lay it in our laps. Leonard's wish has always been for me to be able to stay at home, and take care of the kids. But, our church's day care had an emergency need for a teacher's assistant. Then the question was, what do we do with Matthew, but since he just turned 3 on Saturday, he is able to go with me. We are thankful that God has given me this job, so that we can slowly furnish our new home. Once again....God is good.

We are now looking forward to getting our own house. It is exciting for us to be able to look for houses. We have found one we really like, and are anxious to see what the next step in our lives will be.

As we look back on the year 2008, we have SOOO many things to be thankful for. We have seen in so many ways how God is always there for you, and how his ways are perfect. We have learned to trust Him more, and are very glad that no matter where we are, we can serve him.
